A Treatise on AI Rappers

It's no secret I've enjoyed AI rappers for quite a while, ever since discovering YourBoySponge around 2022. YBS in particular has a good knack for flow and rhythm even when using TTS, I suppose he put it into Audacity and messed around with the timing there. Some of his earlier videos are particularly rough around the edges with the voices. That being said, he's a proper OG of the AI rap game.

One channel I discovered making AI rap recently is JujuCartoons, and this guy is very clearly YBS. The style of the outro, some of the videos literally feature YBS, and the friendship group he seems to keep (and timing of when it changes) matches up with YBS too. But, seriously, go give it a listen. It's very good, and has some real nice YBS touches that I miss in Glorb.

Speaking of Glorb, Glorb! A relatively new figure to the scene, came crashing in in the summer of 2023. His music is much more influenced by rage rap, artists like Playboi Carti and Yeat. While definitely a good lyricist and very good rhythm rapper, the peaks of Glorb's output in my opinion do not match the peaks of YBS. Glorb's The Bottom series is very good, would recommend giving that a listen if you have 10 minutes to kill.

Blorg is an offshoot of Glorb that takes on properties outside Spongebob Squarepants and does a damn good job of it. Go listen to MY SWAMP. I did not particularly enjoy his most recent output, REGULAR, but I did not watch much of Regular Show as a kid. Quite possible that influences that opinion.

Another channel is OKAY FINE, they do rap from several different properties, most notably South Park and Spongebob Squarepants. In my opinion, they're very samey. The flows from song to song are quite similar, and they don't appear to put much effort into the lyricism.
